Edric Chan

About Me

I am a senior at Great Oak High School with a strong interest in machine learning, computer science, and game development. I am also the co-founder and CEO of the Asian-Pacific Culture and Education Association, a nonprofit promoting youth education and cultural exchange.

In my free time, I enjoy fencing, playing the drums, and engaging in strategic games like chess and Go. I also play floor hockey.

Academic Involvement

• Math Club: Actively participating in competitive math challenges and honing my problem-solving skills.
• Cybersecurity Club: Learning the fundamentals of network security, cryptography, and ethical hacking.

Projects & Learning

I spent much of summer 2024 in an internship in the research group of Prof. Miguel Á. Carreira-Perpiñán at the University of California, Merced, working on a research project about transforming images into a cubist style using the Tree Alternating Optimization (TAO) algorithm.

Currently, I am exploring different concepts in machine learning, computer science, and game development. I plan to work on personal projects in the near future and look forward to sharing my work here once I dive deeper into coding and development.

As co-founder and CEO, I lead efforts to promote youth education and cultural exchange through various programs.
